Visitor Information for Tournaments in Squires Student Center

Directions on Campus

Tournaments at Virginia Tech may be held at Squires Student Center, bordered by the Alumni Mall, Newman Library, the Graduate Life Center at Donaldson Brown and College Avenue, and located adjacent to the University Bookstore.

Entering from Southgate Drive:

If coming in from the Southgate Drive entrance, in order to get to Squires, one must continue on Southgate until the intersection with Duck Pond Drive. This intersection is located immediately after passing the Visitor Information Center on the right, and marked by a large bush in the shape of a "VT" at the intersection.

Make a left onto Duck Pond Drive. You will pass the English Baseball Field and the Food Science and Technology building, at which point you should intersect with Washington Street. Landmarks at this intersection include the Food Science and Technology building to your right and the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute across from it looking ahead.

Make a right onto Washington Street. Once again you will pass the Food Science and Technology building on your right as well as the Horticulture Gardens. At this point you should be approaching the intersection with West Campus Drive, marked with a roundabout.

Circle the roundabout to make the left onto West Campus Drive. On your right, you will pass the Career Services Building, Harper Hall, the Fralin Biotechnology Center and Ag Quad Lane in that order. At this point, the next right that will NOT be a parking lot entrance will be Drillfield Drive.

NOTE: Drillfield Drive is ONE-WAY.

Make a right onto Drillfield Drive. Parking is available along the Drillfield in any F/S spot (see below for parking restrictions). Proceed along Drillfield Drive until it forks at the intersection with Kent Street. Take the left fork onto Kent Street.

At this point, Kent Street almost immediately intersects with Alumni Mall. The landmarks at this intersection are the War Memorial Pylons on your left and the Torgersen Bridge on your right.

Make a right onto Alumni Mall. Proceed under the Torgersen Bridge, and Squires Student Center will be on your right.

Entering from Prices Fork - Downtown exit:

At the second traffic light on Prices Fork Road, there will be an intersection with West Campus Drive. The landmark at this intersection will be The Inn at Virginia Tech on your right.

Make a right onto West Campus Drive. You will pass the large commuter parking lot on your left, as well as the Chemistry/Physics building as well as Davidson Hall. At this point, the next left you will be able to make will be Drillfield Drive.

NOTE: Drillfield Drive is ONE-WAY.

NOTE: The commuter lot IS available for parking with the restrictions noted below in the "Parking on Campus" section. If you need a parking permit, proceed on West Campus Drive and follow the reverse of the "Entering from Southgate Drive" directions from West Campus Drive back to the Visitor Information Center.

Make a left onto Drillfield Drive. Parking is available along the Drillfield in any F/S spot (see below for parking restrictions). Proceed along Drillfield Drive until it forks at the intersection with Kent Street. Take the left fork onto Kent Street.

At this point, Kent Street almost immediately intersects with Alumni Mall. The landmarks at this intersection are the War Memorial Pylons on your left and the Torgersen Bridge on your right.

Make a right onto Alumni Mall. Proceed under the Torgersen Bridge, and Squires Student Center will be on your right.

Parking on Campus

During the weekend period, lasting from 5:00 PM on Fridays to 7:00 AM on Mondays, and between 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM on weekdays, all lots should be open to all vehicles EXCEPT those lots marked with a "24-hour" designation.

There are exceptions, most notably on days preceding football games and days of basketball games.

During all other times, a parking pass MUST be obtained at the Visitor Information Center on Southgate Drive (open 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mondays through Fridays) or at the Virginia Tech Police Station, also on Southgate Drive.

Valid visitor parking permits may be used to park in any faculty/staff, student or visitor space.
