What is VT-ACO?
The Virginia Tech Academic Competition Organization (vee-taco) is a club in its eleventh year dedicated to trivia and travelling the country to compete against other schools in our knowledge of it. Here in town, we can often be found at one of the several venues in town that host NTN (that trivia game with the "Blue Controller Things"). If you're a fan of NTN, Jeopardy, 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire', or if you played any of these games in high school, Quiz Bowl may be for you. The Intramural (affectionately called "IM's") Tournament may just be the place to find out. For more info on ACO-VT, visit our Club Homepage.

So, what is Quiz Bowl?
Quiz Bowl tests quick recall of academics, current events, and popular culture on teams of four. Teams compete to buzz-in and answer "toss-up" questions to get to longer, more involved, "bonus" questions. Question topics vary widely; if you like Jeopardy! or if you played It's Academic, Battle of the Brains, Academic Challenge, Academic Decathlon, or Knowledge Master Open in high school, you might enjoy Quiz Bowl in college.

What is the Intramural Tournament?
IM's is an annual event sponsored by ACO-VT to foster awareness of Quiz Bowl, and just generally have a good time. Teams of 1 - 4 members may compete, and we will recognize the top individuals and teams at the end of the day. About one week prior to the tournament, we will work out final details, and post them to this site and send email to the teams involved.
